Tuff-Flexä skived tape with self adhesive provides a smooth non-stick surface and is used on production line runners and guides for easy product and parts conveyance. Also used as an electrical insulation tape for high insulation and high temperature performance. Used as an insulation buffer for RF sealing, and as a surface cover on L Bar, Impulse and Bag sealers.
Tape is made by skiving solid PTFE. Available with and without backing media on the adhesive side. Available with either acrylic or silicone adhesive.
This tape is highly conformable around splices and connectors.
This tape is available meeting the various Type and Class levels of the MIL and Commercial spec - in particular Type I Class 1, Type I Class 2 and Type I Class 4. The tape is fused virgin new polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). No reclaimed material is used in processing. The melting temperature of the base material is 590°F (+/- 20°F) but the actual in-use temperature should be limited to below 500F as that is the maximum operating temperature of the adhesive.
The Type I material has no liner, while the Type II material is permitted to have a liner. If you require Type II material please contact our customer service for a lead time and quote.
Available in .003, .005, & .010 inch thickness (add thickness of adhesive and backing for total thickness).
Standard tape widths are .5, .75, 1, 1.25, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 inches. Custom widths are available up to 36" wide. We slit the tape from master logs which are 36" wide.
