Fiberglass Tapes for Thermal Insulation - Prevention of heat loss or heat gain - Personnel burn Protection
1200°F / 648°C Continuous Exposure: Higher Intermittent
Our most popular fiberglass tapes for thermal insulation, prevention of heat loss or heat gain and for personnel burn protection from hot pipes and hoses are in this section.
DeltaGlass™ high temperature tape is heat, flame and fire resistant. Fiberglass (fibreglass or glass-fibre) woven tapes are fabricated from high quality type E fiberglass that will not burn and will withstand continuous exposure to temperatures of 1200°F / 648°C.
These high temperature tapes provide protection of industrial wires, cables, hoses, tube and pipe and also provide thermal insulation and personnel protection. l. For thermal insulation applications choose the plain tape and not the bolt-hole ladder tape. It is flexible and conformable. For a higher degree of flexibility and conformability, consider using a knitted tape instead of a woven tape.
Available thicknesses include 1/32", 1/16", 1/8", 1/4". These tapes are available with Pressure Sensitive Adhesive to aid in placing the tape. Also available heat treated.
Both woven and knit insulating tapes can be used to spiral wrap hoses or pipes, to provide insulation and also accidental contact burns for personnel working or passing hot process areas. The tape can be used to wrap the pipe or hose, and if desired an additional firesleeve with a closure (hook and loop, snaps, zippers) can be added to cover the exposed tape. Normally a sleeve would be used but using a tape means that the hose or piping doesn't need to be removed from service to add the insulation.
Both the woven and knit tapes are popular as gasket tapes, and both tapes are available in bolt-hole or LadderTape style, which easily accommodates bolt fasteners used on mechanical flanges.
Other tape material options exist - see the list below and the link to our main website.
Other tapes available at abthermal.com include:
- 500°F/260°C Silicone Rubber Sponge Foam Tape with PSA - FDA Food Contact
- 500°F/260°C Silicone Rubber Coated Fiberglass Knit Tapes
- 1350°F/732°C Basalt Woven Tapes

- 1900°F/1037°C Silica Tapes
- 2000°F/1093°C Ceramic Fiber Woven Tape
Fiberglass Knit Tape
Due to the knit construction, this tape is highly flexible and conformable providing a higher degree of flexibility and conformability versus a woven tape. Due to its flexibility, knit tapes are often the tape of choice for holding glass or quartz viewing windows in place on hot process equipment such as in metal processing facilities..
Available thickness is 1/8". These tapes are available with Pressure Sensitive Adhesive to aid in placing the tape.
