FlameShieldä thin-wall high temperature, heat, flame and fire resistant firesleeve is the perfect choice for protecting small diameter AWG size wires and cables from exposure to high temperature and environmental conditions. Brittleness temperature of -80°C / -112°F for cold exposure.
Conforms to MIL-I-3190/9 standards. Exceeds the requirements of UL 1441 (Table 19.8), NEMA TF-1 (Type 5), ASTM-D372. Meets VW-1 flammability requirements. CSA Grade A for 240°C 600 volt service. Dielectric Grade A-1 (8000v minimum average, 6000v minimum individual).
The thin-wall fiberglass substrate and smooth silicone rubber coating on this firesleeve sheds light molten metal splash, slag, welding splatter, electrical or grinding sparks, solder drips and contamination. Also provides protection from ozone, UV and light abrasion. This product is used on a wide variety of equipment such as fixtures, appliances and motors for wiring protection. This sleeve is available only in oxide-red and black colors. Supplied in spool lengths; some sizes may be available in by-the-foot lengths - please contact our order desk to enquire.
This product features tight manufacturing tolerances for wall thickness, Inside Diameter and Outside Diameter measurements. Produced by coating braided fiberglass with a specially formulated, proprietary formulation of silicone rubber that includes high-temperature properties. This sleeve also has exceptional flexibility, toughness and abrasion resistance. On the low end of its temperature range it has a low brittleness temperature of -80°C / -112°F, which makes it a superb candidate for situations requiring outstanding insulation properties throughout a wide operating temperature range.
This product is well suited for wiring protection in motors, generators, transformers and engines. Used in automotive, aviation and aerospace applications.
